新・今日の作家展2026 土星の環の観測点 New "Artists Today" Exhibition 2026: Sightlines to Saturn's Rings

概要

横浜市民ギャラリーは、日本の現代美術展の先駆けである「今日の作家展」（1964～2006年）の理念を継ぎ、同時代の表現を紹介する「新・今日の作家展」を2016年から開催しています。
　2026年は「土星の環の観測点」をテーマに、気鋭の若手作家3名を招聘します。サリーナ・サッタポンは、特殊フィルターを用いた映像インスタレーションで隔絶や格差を可視化し、個や他者、社会とのつながりについて考えることを促します。横手太紀は、彫刻や映像を通して、塵や瓦礫など見過ごされがちな存在の背後にある物語を掘り起こします。辻梨絵子は、多様な人々との対話を通じて相互理解の難しさに向き合い、近作の自作のぬいぐるみが登場する映像は現代の私たちの姿を映し出します。
　異なる距離、周期で公転する地球や太陽との位置関係によって、土星の環は約15年に一度地球から観測しづらくなります。私たちが時に他者の姿を見失ってしまうことは、この「土星の環の消失」に重ね合わせることができるかもしれません。3名の作品は、現代の私たちが無意識のうちに目をそらしている事象を浮き彫りにし、他者や社会をまなざすための態度を指し示してくれることでしょう。

Since 2016, the Yokohama Civic Art Gallery has presented the New “Artists Today”Exhibition, which carries on the spirit of the “Artists Today” Exhibition (1964–2006), a pioneering initiative in contemporary Japanese art, and exhibits the art of our own moment.
　The 2026 edition, with the theme of "Sightlines to Saturn’s Rings", brings together three innovative young artists. Sareena Sattapon creates video installations that employ special filters to render isolation and inequality visible, eliciting reflection on the individual, the other, and social ties. Taiki Yokote works in sculpture and video to uncover narratives embedded in easily overlooked things such as dust and debris. Rieko Tsuji confronts the difficulty of mutual understanding through dialogues with people from many walks of life, and her videos, populated by handmade stuffed toys in her recent works, hold a mirror to who we are now.
　Earth and Saturn orbit the sun at different distances and on different cycles, and as a result, roughly once every 15 years their geometry brings Saturn’s rings edge-on to our line of sight, rendering them nearly invisible from Earth. The way we sometimes lose sight of others can be likened to this “disappearance of Saturn’s rings.” The works of these three artists foreground things and phenomena from which we tend to unconsciously avert our eyes, and point toward ways of truly seeing others and the society we share.

Workshop “Let’s make a stuffed toy of what you want to be!”

We will imagine a persona we want to be—such as a princess or a cat—and create a stuffed toy using fabric and felt. Once it’s done, it’s time for a photo session! Throughout the workshop, Ms. Tsuji will also talk about her own work.

4 ─ ワークショップ 「Magic Glasses─魔法のめがね」

サリーナ・サッタポンのインスタレーション作品には、モニターに映し出されている映像を視認するための特殊なフィルムが使われています。今回のワークショップでは、その特殊なフィルムを使ってメガネを制作します。完成したメガネをかけて作品を見ながら、サッタポンさんのお話を聞きます。

Workshop”Magic Glasses”

Sareena Sattapon’s installation works include a special film that allows the audience to see the video on the monitors. 

In this workshop, we will make glasses using that special film. 

We will listen to Ms. Sattapon’s talk while wearing our glasses and viewing her artwork.

プロフィール

サリーナ・サッタポン Sareena Sattapon
1992年、タイ生まれ。2025年東京藝術大学のグローバルアートプラクティス専攻にて博士課程修了。パフォーマンス、インスタレーション、写真など、さまざまなメディアを用いて作品を制作。自身の経験や日常生活からインスピレーションを得た作品を制作し、現在は、人間の「つながり」と「断絶」に関わる身体的な空間のダイナミクス（変化・力学）に関心を持っている。これまでに、タイ、台湾、シンガポール、韓国、中国、インドネシア、ドイツ、ポーランド、ウクライナ、スロバキア、ノルウェー、スウェーデン、日本など、国内外で多数の展覧会に参加。CAF賞2022最優秀賞(2022)、野村美術賞(2024)、Tokyo　Midtown Award 2024(2024)など、多数受賞。

Born in 1992 in Thailand, Sareena Sattapon is a visual artist who has completed a PhD in Global Art Practice at Tokyo University of the Arts. Sattapon works with various mediums such as performance, installation and painting. She gets her artistic inspiration from her experiences and ordinary life. Sattapon’s currently interest in performative spatial dynamics, related to human’s connection and dis-location. She has had exhibitions internationally: in Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, China, Indonesia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden and Japan.

辻　梨絵子 TSUJI Rieko
1991年東京都生まれ。2016年京都芸術大学美術工芸学科現代美術・写真コース卒業、2019年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科グローバルアートプラクティス専攻修了。在学中にチューリッヒ芸術大学(2014年)、バウハウス大学(2017年)へ交換留学。近年は裁縫を手法に取り入れ、人形劇的な映像作品の制作を行なっている。女性的な手仕事を表現媒体に使用し、性差問題やクィアに関するテーマや、他者との心地良い関係づくりについて思考を重ねている。主な展覧会に、「Versions」（2026年、Studio GROSS/東京）、「All is Love」（2025年、Koichi Yamamura gallery/東京）、「微粒子の呼吸」（2024年、トーキョーアーツアンドスペース本郷/東京）、「ピカたちの結婚」（2022年、soco1010/東京）、「BankART Under35」（2022年、BankART KAIKO/横浜）など。

Born in Tokyo in 1991. She received B.F.A in contemporary art and photography course from Kyoto University of Art and Design and M.F.A in Global Art Practice course from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2019. She also studied at Bauhaus University and Zurich University of Arts as an exchange student. In recent years, she has incorporated sewing into her techniques, creating puppet-show like video works. Using feminine handiwork as a medium of expression, she reflects on themes related to gender differences, queer issues, and creation of comfortable relationships with others.

横手 太紀 YOKOTE Taiki
1998年生まれ。神奈川県逗子市育ち。2021年東京藝術大学美術学部彫刻科卒業。2025年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科彫刻専攻修了。横手の実践は、身の回りの景色や出来事によって揺さぶられる感情から始まる。存在と不在、説明のつかない感覚、非言語的なやりとり、目では捉えきれない微細な存在や事象。横手は物質とその背後にある見えない交感に目を向け、集合体のなかに埋もれた個の存在や、多様な時間を浮かび上がらせ、私たちと社会や世界とのより深い接続を促している。主な展覧会に「to make today lovely, too / to make today lonely, too」（2026年、CON_＋parcel/東京）、「Frieze Seoul 2025」（2025年、COEX/ソウル）、「惑星ザムザ」（2022年、小高製本工業跡地/東京）など。

Born in 1998, raised in Zushi, Kanagawa, Japan. He received his B.F.A. in Sculpture from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021, and completed his M.F.A. in Sculpture at the same university in 2025. Yokote’s practice begins with emotions stirred by the landscapes and events of everyday life. Presence and absence, sensations that resist explanation, non-verbal communication, and minute beings or phenomena that cannot be fully grasped by the eye—He turns his attention to material objects and the invisible exchanges behind them, bringing to light the presence of the individual buried within the collective and the multiplicity of temporalities, thereby fostering a deeper connection between ourselves, society, and the world.

赤坂 憲雄 AKASAKA Norio
民俗学者。1953年東京都生まれ。東京大学卒。専攻は日本文化論。最近は民俗学と文学を繋ぐために試行錯誤を重ねている。著書に、『異人論序説』（ちくま学芸文庫）、『境界の発生』（講談社学術文庫）、『排除の現象学』『東北学／忘れられた東北』『岡本太郎の見た日本』『象徴天皇という物語』（岩波現代文庫）、『武蔵野をよむ』『姥棄て考』（岩波新書）、『性食考』『ナウシカ考』『いくつもの武蔵野へ』（岩波書店）、『奴隷と家畜』『怪物たちの食卓』『定本　柳田国男の発生』（青土社）、『災間に生かされて』（亜紀書房）、『宮崎駿の詩学』（集英社）など。

A folklorist born in Tokyo in 1953. He graduated of the University of Tokyo, specializing in Japanese cultural studies. He have been experimenting with new ways to connect folklore and literature in recent years. He is author of numerous books.
